Built in 1799-1800, Homewood Museum is a grand stone house reflecting the aspirations and accomplishments of the Jones family. A loyalist who arrived in Upper Canada in 1784, Dunham Jones, Solomon Jones’ eldest son and successor, was an ensign with the 1st Regiment of the Grenville Militia during the War of 1812 and a captain with the same militia during the 1837 Rebellion at the Battle of the Windmill.
