Royal Military College of Canada, Kingston • (613) 541-6000 x 6652/3555
The RMC Museum is located on Fort Frederick, a small peninsula just to the east of the City of Kingston, Ontario, within the campus of the Royal Military College of Canada. This scenic location, at the junction of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, is one of great historic importance.
It has been occupied as an active military site since 1789 and during the War of 1812 it served as the main naval station in Upper Canada. Ships of the Royal Navy were built and based here and it was because of these ships that the British army was able to preserve Upper Canada from American occupation.
The museum is open to the public over the summer months, from the last Saturday of June through to Labour Day.
Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
